Pablo Soler (Córdoba, Spain, 2003) is a composer working with both acoustic and electronic media. His artistic practice is driven by an interest in musical overstimulation and in the ways contemporary everyday life shapes our perceptual experience. In a world increasingly saturated with sounds, images, information and stimuli, his music reflects on the constant flow of inputs to which we are exposed and on the difficulty of processing them as a coherent whole. This interest leads him towards musical collage, exploring the coexistence of highly disparate materials within dense and saturated structures. Fragments, timbres, gestures and contrasting musical languages are brought together, not necessarily seeking synthesis, but allowing their differences and frictions to remain perceptible. Through this approach, his music explores saturation, instability and perceptual overload, creating sonic environments in which multiple layers of information compete for the listener's attention.
Pablo Soler is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Composition at Musikene – Higher School of Music of the Basque Country, where he studies with Gabriel Erkoreka, winner of the Spanish National Music Prize. He previously completed his undergraduate degree in Composition at the Manuel Castillo Higher Conservatory of Music in Seville, studying with Francisco Martín Quintero. Throughout his training, he has participated in masterclasses and workshops with composers including Elena Mendoza, Raphaël Cendo and Chaya Czernowin, as well as receiving instruction from Alberto Bernal, Alexander Schubert and Alberto Posadas.
His music has been presented in different contemporary music contexts and festivals. He participated in the Mixtur Festival 2024 in Barcelona, working with Riot Ensemble, and has taken part in activities associated with the Klexos Festival and the After Cage Festival. His works have been premiered in venues and contexts in Seville, Granada, Ponferrada and the Basque Country, including a commission from the Becuadro Foundation. His work Lágrimas en un bosque de agujas (Tears in a Forest of Needles) was selected as a finalist in a composition competition in Andalusia.
Among his most significant recent projects is Dulces tinieblas, a work premiered by the internationally renowned London Sinfonietta. The project represents an important step in the development of his compositional practice, bringing together his interest in acoustic instrumental writing, sonic saturation and contemporary forms of musical organization.
